Music For A Purpose 2008 CAN JAM

The economic downturn of the last year has resulted in dwindling food supplies for regional and national food banks as well as an increase in distribution of prepared and non perishable food to an ever increasing amount of people in need. The 2008 Can Jam was conceived after concert organizers learned of the theft of 1,000 pounds of food from an Alexandria warehouse owned by one of the CAFB member agencies. “The theft of “A.L.I.V.E.” Food Bank supplies reflect the dire nature of society and the magnitude at which resources are being stretched.” Said Dee Dee Grucelski, Co-Executive Director of Music For A Purpose organizer of the August 23rd concert event.
